You might be wondering why this blog is called Smug Wombat. Well in the year 2025 A.D, yours truly was trying to choose a ‘proper’ domain name for a blog about tech, self improvement, artificial intelligence, productivity, and other such things.

I wanted the name to evoke authority, wisdom, hope, and a feeling of self improvement. Something like ‘The Ambition’ or ‘Super Mega Awesome You’, the kind of thing that might get featured in Forbes.

Finding the perfect name would take creativity, genius, vision, and other qualities associated with greatness and success. But really, who has the time for that?

So I settled on Smug Wombat — because if names like The Verge, PorkBun, and X work, why overthink it?
